Will you help save Tabitha’s life?
Tabitha is a single mother of a wonderful daughter and is in need of a kidney transplant. She has been on the waiting list for six months and is currently on dialysis at home for 12 hours a day, which has been exhausting and painful. Will you consider being a living donor for Tabitha?
Tabitha’s Story
Tabitha developed a rare form of vasculitis over 15 years ago, which caused irreversible damage to her kidneys. She was lucky to have a friend who matched to be a living donor, and was able to receive a transplant relatively quickly. This condition is now in remission.
Last June, Tabitha’s kidney started failing due to a complication from equestrian pneumonia. As you can imagine, this was a huge blow to her and her teenage daughter. She was hospitalized for a long time during which her transplant began rejecting. Elianna, Tabitha’s 17-year-old daughter, has spent countless nights sitting with her mother in a hospital room. She has been a dedicated companion during this endeavor. They both look forward to Elianna leaving for college next year. This is a bitter sweet time as they both fear how Tabitha will be able to care for herself when her daughter is gone.
Tabitha has been on at-home dialysis for 12 hours a day since October. More than eight people have tried to match with her with no success as of yet.
We are asking you to please consider how you can help. Will you consider being tested to see if you are a match?
